GSA Schedule - GEAR Software Upgrade Protection & Support Plan
By purchasing the one-year Upgrade Protection and Support Plan (UPSP) with your software Product, software Licensees will enjoy additional benefits including software upgrades and unlimited technical support with the use of your GEAR product. Enrollment in the UPSP avoids any potential product upgrade and support issues associated with new GEAR releases, new operating system support, new hardware support, and it provides you with access to GEAR staff for general trouble-shooting related to your CD and DVD recording, too. Software upgrades and technical assistance are essential elements in our relationship with you, and remaining current keeps your software attuned to the latest advances in optical recording and maximizes GEAR's capacity to personally support you in meeting your CD and DVD recording requirements.

Customers with the GEAR Upgrade Protection and Support Plan package are entitled to all of the above benefits.
*For the purposes of GSA Schedule purchases, the following definitions apply:
Term License: purchase and use of a GEAR Software product when purchased as a Site License. Each install of the software has an associated Upgrade Protection and Support Plan which must be purchased at the same time. Therefore, Site License = Term License = X number of installs and an equal number of Upgrade Protection and Support Plans. For GSA Site Licenses (Term License), purchase of the GEAR Software Upgrade Protection and Support Plan is required at the time of your software purchase.
Perpetual License: purchase and use of a single or multiple copies of a GEAR Software product but less than the minimum volume for a site license. When purchasing a Perpetual License of a GEAR Software Product, it is optional (but highly recommended) that an Upgrade Protection and Support Plan is also purchased. For single-CPU licenses, the Upgrade Protection and Support Plan is not a requirement to run the software however is a requirement to get new license codes should a CPU fail or the user desire to transfer the license to a different computer.
Invoices for the annual renewal of your Upgrade Protection and Support Plan shall be submitted to you by GEAR on an annual basis. If you elect to discontinue Annual UPSP, all you need to do is notify GEAR within 30 days and we will cancel the Invoice. The only requirement for renewal of a site (term) license is payment of the GEAR Upgrade Protection and Support Plan annual fee (the renewal/insurance fee). All fees for UPSP are paid in advance and cover the subsequent twelve-month period.
